São Paulo has the largest population of Japanese people of any city outside of Japan, so I was definitely filling up with some Japanese favorites while I was there. Tonkatsu (breaded pork cutlet) ranks high on that list, and this one was very nice, as were the tamagoyaki (pan fried rolled egg, center), miso soup (not shown) and green tea. The owner, a 65-year old retiree from Yokohama, went to Brazil on a visit ten years ago and decided to stay, and since has gotten himself a local wife and opened this small restaurant with her.
